How do I build my dream Springboks XV online?

You get a unique shareable link. No sign-up required, 100% free.
How is a rugby union XV officially built?
A rugby XV is made of 8 forwards (1 loosehead prop, 2 hooker, 3 tighthead prop, 4 and 5 locks, 6 and 7 flankers, 8 number eight) and 7 backs (9 scrumhalf, 10 flyhalf, 11 left wing, 12 inside centre, 13 outside centre, 14 right wing, 15 fullback). Plus 8 reserves on the bench — including the famous Bok 7-1 bombsquad split. TeamBranch reproduces this grammar exactly.
Can I build a squad for the 2027 Rugby World Cup?
Yes — this is by far the most popular use right now. RWC 2027 runs in Australia from 1 October to 13 November, expanded to 24 teams. You can draft multiple hypotheses: Rassie and Tony Brown's pick, all-time Bok XV, post-URC blooded XV, 1995 throwback XV, three-peat XV, World XV. Editable and shareable, update it before every Test.
Can I create a team with my mates or family?
Of course. 800,000 custom XVs have already been built. Upload photos of your bru, your oom, your sister, your cousin, your club coach, your Saturday morning Boland XV, and slot them into any position. Lekker for the club final, the work team-build, the bachelor weekend, or just a WhatsApp group skinder.
What about the Springbok Women?
Women's rugby is integrated 100%. Build the Bok Women with the rising generation — captain Nolusindiso Booi, Aseza Hele, Babalwa Latsha, Libbie Janse van Rensburg, Nadine Roos. The side that qualified for the 2025 World Cup in England and is growing fast in the URC and Premiership ranks.
Which club competitions are covered?
The URC (United Rugby Championship — all 4 SA franchises: Bulls, Stormers, Sharks, Lions, plus the Irish, Welsh, Scottish and Italian sides), the Currie Cup (the oldest trophy in rugby outside Britain, 1889), the EPCR Champions Cup and Challenge Cup, plus France's Top 14, England's Premiership, Japan's League One and Super Rugby Pacific. More than 800 club cards in total.
What tactical formations does TeamBranch support?
Four: Classic (balanced), Attacking (loose forwards, fast wingers, ball-in-hand), Defensive (heavy pack, tactical halfback, kicking game — the Bok house style), Kicking Game (territory rugby, Pollard's boot, box kicks). You can switch at any time and your XV reorganises automatically on the interactive field.
What's the difference between rugby union XV and rugby sevens?
Rugby union (15 players, 80 minutes in 2 halves) is the classic format: Rugby World Cup, Rugby Championship, URC. Sevens (7 players, 14 minutes) is the short Olympic format. The Blitzboks are a World Series powerhouse, with Olympic bronze (Rio 2016) and multiple World Series titles. TeamBranch covers both — Sevens drops autumn 2026.
Why are the Springboks the only team with four World Cup titles?
Four stars on the jersey: 1995 (at home, Mandela's #6, 15-12 vs the All Blacks, Stransky's drop), 2007 (in Paris, 15-6 vs England, John Smit captain), 2019 (in Yokohama, 32-12 vs England, Kolisi's history-making run), 2023 (in Paris, back-to-back, 12-11 vs the All Blacks). The 2023 run was unprecedented — four knockout matches won by a single point. Bombsquad rugby, suffocating defence, Rassie's mind games. The only side ever to retain the cup with three one-point knockout wins.
Is the service really free?
Yes, no exception. Composition, sharing, exports, custom card uploads, tactical simulation: everything is free. No sign-up required, no intrusive ads, no paywall. Build as many XVs as you want.
