Create and share your ideal ice hockey lineup. Position your 6 players (goaltender, defensemen, wingers and center) on the rink.
Each team has 6 players on the ice: 1 goaltender, 2 defensemen, 2 wingers and 1 center. Substitutions are made on the fly.
The most common formations are 1-2-2 (standard), 1-3-1 (defensive trap), 1-1-3 (offensive) and 2-1-2 (reinforced defense).
When a player is penalized, their team plays shorthanded (5 vs 6). The team with more players is on a "power play" and often uses special offensive formations.
